mCent Messaging in India

We launched a messaging feature on our Android app mCent four months ago. This feature enables people to send airtime (mobile data that they’ve earned on mCent), text and links to their friends and family. The team working on messaging has been monitoring the health of this feature with the usual metrics – the number of daily messages sent and received and the % of members using the feature. Outside of the usual aggregate metrics, I was curious to see is how this feature is being used across India. I mapped out the coordinates of senders and receivers and was excited to see that on any given day, there’s quite a bit of both intra- and inter- city messaging and sharing of airtime in India. Hopefully in the future we will see more and more of this map light up with mCent messaging.
